Dreaming in Sleep Apnea

Some nights I start a dream, the same dream, numerous times. I’ll be in a situation and something happens that I must react to. But instead of reacting, I am stymied and then I’m back at the start of the situation. Before the dream proceeds to the next stage, the cycle is repeated. This reoccurrence of the same dream seems to happen 5 or 10 or more times, before I awake fully and get up.

It’s very frustrating, like being trapped in a house of mirrors with no exit.

My theory is that the many subconscious wakeups, reported in my sleep apnea study, reinitiate the same dream, when the wakeups occur frequently within a REM cycle.

When the CPAP is setup, I’ll be able to see if the disturbing of recycling dreams is lessened.
