Two Thoughts Wide

Two lane road snaking through tall trees

Two thoughts wide
The universe spanned
Checkerboard strips across nature’s miracle

Night dark crowded
Constellations thin but connected
Soaring high, frozen quick

Neighbors friendly, landscape neat
Homes warm with cooking dinner

Goods cheap or dear
Goods function or fail

Beyond the realm
Goods fair,
Work yet cheap

Weekday prayers, regular wishes
Definite answers, questions long set
True or false
Gaps bridged by fervent cement

Universe two thoughts wide
Always. It’s happened twice
Never. Last time it didn’t
Something always is or never was
Acts are moral or evil

Universe two thoughts wide
On streets and avenues of civilization
Nothing beyond intersections exist.

Universe two thoughts wide
On streets and avenues of civilization
Nothing beyond intersections exist.
