Harmony

A question came up in a Mensa forum - what forms do you find harmonious? It made me think of this early painting by Gauguin that I use to copy with pastel pencils.
How is the harmonious feeling achieved?
There is symmetry. Blue sky and mass of trees. A path curving in from the left. The hill falling off to the right.
I find the collegial atmosphere soothing and pleasing.
The restricted autumn palette is not jarring, yet does provide interest.
The rhythm of impressionistic brush strokes also adds to a dynamic appreciation of a pleasing setting.
